The serial cable required to connect the lens controller via the serial port is sold separately. This cable is only necessary if you plan to integrate the adapter with industrial or astronomy cameras that use serial communication for lens control.
If you intend to use the control board exclusively with a Raspberry Pi camera, which communicates via the I²C bus and CSI connector, the serial cable is not required.
